Vinblastine Sulphate

Class
Kinase Inhibitor
MOA
Vinblastine works by disrupting the microtubule structure of cells, which are important for cell division and organization of the cytoskeleton. Specifically, vinblastine binds to tubulin, which is a protein that makes up microtubules and prevents the microtubules from forming properly. This causes the cells to stop dividing and ultimately die. In addition to disrupting microtubules, vinblastine also interferes with the formation of the mitotic spindle, which is a structure that helps to pull the chromosomes apart during cell division. This leads to abnormal chromosome segregation and ultimately cell death. Overall, vinblastine’s mechanism of action is to disrupt the microtubule structure of cells, leading to the inhibition of cell division and ultimately cell death.
